#DaisyJonesandthesix: I really enjoyed this book. It was flowing so easily… I felt like I was part of the conversation that was happening throughout… Daisy was complex and soft and broken and just human… the chemistry between Billy and Daisy was spectacular even though it was wrong.
Camila was that voice of reason. And she was made to just be who she was: an honest and loving person. Her level of commitment and trust was out of this world, literally.
Eddie was just too grumpy for my liking.
Karen and Graham made so much sense, but then again, life happens, and nothing makes sense anymore.
Warren is such a chilled person. Will leave it at that.
Finding out who was doing the interview for the book and driving the conversation was such a great moment. I loved it. It made so much sense for her to do that interview. I don’t know why but it just did 🙂
Overall, it is a great book. I loved how easy it was. It touched on some bits of how women are expected to behave. How they are expected to leave everything to start a family. We see this with Graham and Karen.
Also, the topic of drug abuse and addiction was well captured. Including why people do it and how one can get clean. It touched on how one’s love for their family and people around them can help them get clean, however, the decision has to be solely on the person struggling with addiction.
Some favourite quotes:
“If she knew how often I was thinking about her, she wouldn’t feel lonely.”
“But loving somebody isn’t perfection and good times and laughing and making love. Love is forgiveness and patience and faith, and every once in a while, it’s a gut punch. That’s why it’s a dangerous thing when you go loving the wrong person.”
“You’re all sorts of things you don’t even know yet.”
“I love you as much as I’m willing to love anybody.”
I would have loved to hear more about Daisy’s life afterwards, though.
If you are looking for a quick read, I recommend this. It is quite enjoyable.
Until next time,
Jane 🙂
