Two Nights at Ruaha National Park

I had been dreaming of visiting Ruaha National Park for a while. By November last year, I decided I had done enough planning—it was time to make it happen. With EveryDay Mbeya’s help, I set my travel dates for December. As the trip approached, excitement washed over me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but…

Solo Hike to Lake Ngosi: A Journey of Self-Discovery-ish

I’m from Mbeya. Lake Ngosi is one of the many beautiful wonders in Mbeya. Remember Kimondo? There is so much to see in Mbeya; we haven’t done a better job talking about how blessed we are.  A change of plans Anyway, here is a flashback to some time in September. I decided to play tourist…

Slow Living in Tanzania - Books, coffee, home ✨️
Columnist @thecitizentz

I’ve been thinking about how I sometimes move thro I’ve been thinking about how I sometimes move through things without really paying attention.

The trees, the water, the food. The things that hold everything together.

Today felt like a good day to notice a bit more.

Happy Earth Day 🌍

Who gets to decide that the life you are living is Who gets to decide that the life you are living is a good one? The correct one?

Weeks after I finished The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy, I am still trying to answer that question.

In my review, I talk about how I think about death and what kind of feeling it will leave behind.

This year, I want to read books that push me to question how I live and help me change some beliefs.
You sit by the sea. You drink coffee. You read. O You sit by the sea.

You drink coffee. You read. Or pretend to read as you admire the sea and wonder how far it goes. You invite intrusive thoughts while at it (IYKYK). Then you go back to actually reading and drinking your now cold coffee, because you left it alone for too long. But you don’t want to give it up.

You admire the sunset. You think about how grateful you are to be part of nature.

You pay your bill and go back to your little home that you love so much. You go to bed. The end 🤣✨️

Anyway, my current book is interesting. It is changing how I see marketing. It is more than just selling. It is a way of understanding the world better.
Are you living the way you think you should? Maybe Are you living the way you think you should?
Maybe yes. Maybe not.

That is yours to answer.

The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy asks you to sit with it. It is unsettling. It is necessary.

My favourite quote: “Can it be that I have not lived as one ought?” Suddenly came into his head. “But how not so, when I've done everything as it should be done?”

A review and video coming soon. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Home. Home.
